What it means to be Stuck With School

Fortunately for many children and young people in our communities attending school and making progress with their education is more or less positive and straightforward. However, for many other children and young people the opposite is true, and this is what it means to be stuck with school.

For them and their families school is difficult and challenging, a source of anxiety and despair, and their circumstances are only made worse by endless waits for SEN assessments, scarce access to CAMHS and inconsistent advice and limited support from the Local Authority.

Children and young people who can't keep up or fit in to its regime become collateral damage; their wellbeing shattered, their confidence crushed and their parents and carers left to pick up the pieces.

This is what it means to be stuck with school.
